Bob’s experience of living in a culture where perfection was always the thing to pursue, it was a fruitless endeavour. It did cause some personality issues of never feeling accomplished that has lead into life after hockey as well.

This course was developed to help young athletes change their mindset about the pursuit of perfection. The student will learn many things about themselves and the behaviour that needs to be developed if perfection is something they choose to pursue.

Lessons

1

In the first lesson we shed light on the fallacy of perfection. We will discuss why we sometimes feel like we have to be perfect. Trying to please others is not a positive or beneficial mindset to have. Being pleased with yourself should always come first.

2

In lesson 2 we discuss failure. The only way to find the success we are looking for is to fail forward. Failure can be our greatest teacher.

3

Lesson 3 is about progress. It is the progress we make each and every day that brings us closer to success. There is much progress that comes out of failure.

Achieving all that you desire comes through daily progress and a strong plan of action.

4

On our journey to achieving success we encounter failure. Sometimes a great deal of failure.

It is a part of the learning process. Sometimes we can master new skills quickly, other times it can take much longer than we are prepared for.

Any way you look at it, failure is inevitable. It is time to embrace it, rather than fear it.

5

In this introduction we ask that you take a short quiz to share with us what you know about failure.

6

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”

This quote from Benjamin Franklin is so important. Progress is and has been the way things get done in the World.

It is time that you start to look at your progress and develop a plan for how you are going to get where you want to go.
